Is it now ok to bring it up anytime you do anything else and not allow you to move on with your life. Can we just psychologically poke at you for your mistake until you go into hiding from the world? Would that be a fair response? I don't think it's relevant whether or not it's fair. It's how the internet works. You do a big goof, whether you think of it as such or not.
