Mainly because GW constantly threatens to sue for theft of intellectual property and screams about how rip-off models aren't tournament legal. They've pushed back against it huge because they understand how it undercuts their entire model. It's entirely possible their current practices (rebooting entire lines and selling everything at vastly overinflated prices) is because they know the gravy train isn't going to last much longer before it runs out. So they're trying to rake in as much revenue as they can now before the bottom falls out. And let's be honest, most people aren't going to have 3D printers anyway.
