Teslas are starting to make me nervous.

why not let a grown up company like Ford or VW figure this out first? Elon cant be trusted
It's a problem all EVs will have. Except cars with LFP batteries, which only Tesla uses and are exclusive to their cheapest models at the moment. The Chinese government has invested in LFP production for Tesla/Chinese brands made for their market because of their excellent safety. They don't catch on fire.

As for the "grown up" companies, GM's Bolt kept exploding spontaneously enough for them to recall all of them and halt production for over a year while they couldn't figure out why. Turned out to be bad engineering from cheaping out.

The grown up companies aren't any better and we can't pretend they are just because Elon is a clown. There's a reason why they got beat by said clown in the first place.
