Why try to convince and support 100 companies to pay $25/mo when you can convince 1 company to pay $2500/mo? It's not like those large companies are going to stop scraping twitter for their ML models. Those large companies are already paying for their large scale API access. Twitter currently allows a small number of requests, up to 7 days in the past, for free. That's what's going away with this change.
