I'm only 20 minutes into this thing and I love it so much. His art style is amazing.
Agreed, it's a solid look that feels natural for gen 1.

Finally finished it. That was a lot of fun and it was great trying to see all the references to sprites, memes, fan rumors, and even old concept art. I hope he does Gold someday. Maybe in like 7 years.

Also Red should've banged Leaf instead of Misty. Just saiyan >_>
I think the idea, since Green is essentially female Red in the games she's playable in, is that they are more so like siblings than potential lovers. Additionally, could be a manga thing where Red and Misty get together in the manga, but again, wouldn't know. If not, then maybe he wrote himself in a corner, if he originally didn't plan on adding Green to the series since he already established Misty and Red as a future couple very early on.

Oh I see it. Nice. I wonder how long it will take for him to complete that lol
It took him 2 to maybe closer to 3 years based on his intro for the "movie" I posted above to complete Red. Gold does have the fact it has two regions, so I guess it depends if he wants to flesh out Kanto in Gold/Silver as much as he fleshes out Johto, or if he'll compress the journey since he already did Kanto in Red/Blue. There's the fact that the big bads of gen II are just leftover Rocket members, so they may not have as much to them as this one did, but who knows. Regardless, it's hard to imagine it not being longer than Red considering those facts.

Additionally, I hope he doesn't feel the need that many start to feel where they have to increase the quality of their productions as they get bigger. Literally, if he just does what he did for Red, that would be perfectly fine! When people feel the need to have to up their game, that's when it takes centuries for things to get released (DBZA) and projects start to get canceled.

I'm more so curious if he'll keep going after Gold/Silver. Gold feels like a continuation of Red's story in a way (even to the end of fighting Red), and finishes up the loose ends of that game. After that, though, each game is truly its own unique setting/story. Not to mention, gen 3 is probably the start of the first great divide considering the jump to gba, and all the changes that brought to Pokemon. That's also when each Pokemon game became about world-ending threats and the legendaries were focal to the plot of each game. The guy who made this seems like he just loves Pokemon as a whole, though, considering all the references to the newest region, and all the cameos by other Champions.

But yeah, his animation is simplistic; you mentioned like the old flash animations, and that's what gives him the benefit of being able to animate a 3-and-a-half-hour story like this in just a few years (helps that he doesn't really have to worry about voice-work too). I really enjoy the animation, though, so hopefully he continues to do it like that.
