well okay, I guess that's fair
I liked Malazan, I was just frustrated by the constant authorial teasing, with characters having realizations that are never explained
or rather, as a fairly unobservant reader I mostly forgot about them by the time they were explained, leaving me with a nagging sense of uhhh ... unresolution?
I liked the series more on the second read where I could catch things like that better, and was left with a more positive impression of Erikson's writing
