I just saw a chance to address my weird diplomatic hangup about countries having to act like obvious bad actors who wont work with them in good faith are really okay because they happen to be running an ally and took it. Sorry I dont want to derail the thread. So I will say this ties into the relevant point that you do not have to reward bad behaviour.

On the topic of royalties, I remember when the Enders Game movie came out and they tried to make it clear that Orson Scott Card wasnt getting anything from ticket sales (of course, many myself included still didnt want to support it). No such announcement on Rowling here. She is definitely getting paid off of sales of this thing as far as we know.
