I haven't really had much to add here because GMUN and others have said it all already but I mean, for my part I just see it as the very bare minimum to not actively support Rowling with my dollars. Plenty of other video games out there - like I said, my backlog is killing me! - so it's honestly not even a difficult sacrifice.

Though I'm also not new to this I guess. Plenty of series/franchises I loved as a kid and were in some ways pretty foundational for me turned out to have been created by some odious people - Ender's Game, Harry Potter, Kenshin. I can't go back in time and not buy them but it certainly colors how I look back on them. The very least - and I mean very least - I can do is not support them going forward - whether that's Hogwarts Legacy, whatever new HP movies they're rumored to want to make, that Kenshin sequel, etc.

But that's just my thoughts on the matter as it relates to myself. I'm not trying to impose it on anyone else. Like has been said, if anything I find it a bit more sus when someone makes a big deal of justifying buying it to others than if they were just to do so and not call attention to it in any big way by like just posting in a discussion topic about the actual game itself.
