i could buy games being cheaper to produce if you're making games today that are equivalent to snes games back in the day. but not aaa and shit, now way no how.

To be fair, most of the AAA costs are self-imposed, and outside of a few big titles many, many of them are poorly received these days. They basically went past the point of "throw money at it until it's good" to "throw money at it until it's good, then use the excess money to make it the worst thing ever made."
