It actually seems a tad trickier to code than your usual pause button, since online multiplayer and single-player are fused into a singular experience: * You're pausing = you go offline, the world pauses, and can't matchmake * You unpause = you go back online * You're invaded or invading = can't pause at all * You're offline = you can pause anytime The fourth bullet point seem the most easily implementable, though. If you start the game offline, I don't think it'd be hard to add a pause function. Case in point, Sekiro -- which has no online -- has the pause button. Nowadays, I take it as a stylistic quirk anyway (fitting of the "Souls are hard" trope even). ... Copied to Clipboard! |
