-I think people should be nicer to 1's jank. The Magnet Beam, zips and the pause trick are fun.
-2 has the Metal Blade and a rock solid soundtrack but the castle stages drop the ball for me. Every robot has something going for them which is nice.
-I struggle to replay 3 because of the slowdown and like 2 the Wily castle at the very end is kinda meh. I do like that the weird boss weakness order encourages you to try different routes. I don't mind the Doc Robot stages at all. Doc Quick is a fully realized enemy of the people.

-I really don't like that in 5 you lose your charge if you get hit. It's a kind of tedium that no amount of free 1ups can atone for. Soundtrack is okay, Protoman's castle hard carries the ost. Super Arrow is awesome and deserved to stick around. Having Beat on hand to bulldoze Wily at the end is a nice option.
-Robot masters in 6 are on the forgettable side. Mr X's castle makes a herculean effort to hard carry the soundtrack. I like Tomahawkman's weapon. I like how the Flight Adaptor works in this game, with some physics to it unlike in 7 where they reworked it to be a upward diagonal dash.

No ranking. They're all neat. They all share a tier called MM9 destroys them but I do like them regardless. I'm sure people will disagree with this but I don't think they blend together nearly as much as the MMX games do.
