I'm still thinking but I agree with Lopen on a lot of points here, especially that I don't think the duos end up paring off. Tifa and Squall probably don't meet at all in the combat here. Tifa I think hides after her first death and rez with carbuncle, which is going to come fairly early and thus be on CD if Doomslayer ever needs it for the revive. She'd need to get close enough to Chief to breach him and that's... not really likely. I adore Tifa but this is a hellscape for her (literally, haw.) So if she's trying to stay alive and keep her buffs up, she's essentially a noncombatant, and if she doesn't, she's gonna die.

Squall is a bit better off with triple, if he hangs back out of Doomslayer's range... but i do think a stray rocket is gonna catch him at some point. It's arguable that if Slayer does close with chief and doomily slay him, Squall probably CAN get a full life off (and die for it) leaving doomy to have to re-fight chief in a secondary duel. Which, if Chief uses the time to book it back to range... gives him a really strong chance here. I watched the level video, this isn't a straight run for either team there's a lot of cover and walls and underground areas to hide behind. It's a case where i think Doomslayer has superior firepower, his guns are in fact BETTER than chief's. But can chief still do the job? I'm... not sure. leaning towards a 'i think so with squall's backup specifically'. But it's still a think so.

Also as cool as Icon of Sin is as a giant demony death boss, it is still a giant, slow ass, boss monster. So yeeaaaah I don't think Chief would job to it as long as his guns weren't worthless against it.
