But judging by other people's responses, and not just mine, the non-hauling pickup driver stereotype exists for a reason. Same reason there's a stereotype surrounding older men driving sports cars.

Most stereotypes are based in reality.
Which is all still an assumption no matter how you dress it and put it in a bow.

You claimed in this topic people buy trucks to look manly. That is an ignorant assumption.

Pointing to a stereotype doesn't make your ignorant assumptions fact. Nor does pointing to one make it reality.
