The longer the train the more weight it has onboard. Thus the harder it will be for the train to stop even with automatic braking systems. Its the equivalent of an 18 wheeler that needs more of a space cushion because of a heavy load. They got into some bad habits during covid when Fat Donnie didnt give a shit.
