I feel like it's a paranoid man thing that makes guys think most women are gonna immediately try to push all the responsibilities of their child on you. A lit of women probably wouldn't even feel comfortable with you being alone with their child for the first few months. My sister doesn't even want new men to meet her kids until she knows it's serious. Because it's bad for the children to introduce them to people who might immediately leave anyway
It's more than just that really.

If I just met you, or we are just dating, don't ask me to be responsible for providing for your children. You can take your time to introduce me, but when you decide it doesn't all of a sudden mean I'm their daddy who should be providing.

Now if we get serious like marriage, then OK, maybe.

Then there's the issue of actually dealing with the children themselves. If the child acts up, can I send them to their rooms, can I take their toy away? Like what's my role in this scenario if we get serious? Am I expected to provide like a father, but cant parent like one? Because each person is VERY different on the expectations, and you shouldn't assume those expectations are reasonable.

There's so many variables really that it's not a one size fits all. But to speak to my stance, I just wouldn't want to deal with the potential drama between her and what she expects with her children, her baby daddy drama, and finances surrounding all 3.

It would really take some hard convincing for me to look past all that potential headache and stress I don't feel like getting into.
