They do eat some of it, but there are only the four goats in that particular pasture and it grows so fast they barely make a dent in it. (Plus they have nearly a full acre with tons of other plants to eat and goats like to eat lots of different things.)

I bought a scythe specifically to deal with the hemp plants that were taking over the barnyard. It sliced through mature hemp like a hot knife through butter, and for significantly less money than a machine powerful enough to do the job. (A string trimmer can't cut through the woody stalks and the stuff was too big and tall for a lawnmower. It would have required a brush mower and those can cost thousands.)
