Start with a film about Cpt Falcon uncovering a conspiracy at the F-Zero GP, then have a stinger with him picking up a new bounty, but being warned that he's not the only one after it and showing shadowy outlines of the Hunter Gunship and an Arwing... This would be amazing, actually. F-Zero is a fantastic starting point since it can start with a more focused "race" storyline, where the villain is Black Shadow attempting to use the races for something greater, and then just evolve into something bigger which opens the pathways for that. And it'd flow so well, since Black Shadow's thing is basically being the "local" flunky for a greater evil.
