Place 04/22/23 12:32:58 AM #20:	He's a Pirate [8.0] / Mother Knows Best [8.0] Simple and Clean [8.0] / Darkwing Duck [7.0] The Moon [8.0] / Lava [1.5] The Glory Days [9.0] / Friend Like Me [7.0] Tangled is at its best when it embraces its screwball comedy side, but I can't help but notice the animation isn't quite there yet. If this were a Renaissance or even post-Renaissance 2D film, I'm sure Mother Knows Best would have received an amazing treatment. As is, it's a rather earnest homage to the Golden era works, using its own shell to drive some biting satire via one of the most realistic villains in the Disney rogues gallery. ~~I love the reprisal, calling back to Jafar's reprisal of Prince Ali with the roles reversed. That is a different beast entirely and lives up to the excellent groundwork from the film and more. I haven't watched very many 'new' cartoons--Tangled is an exception and absolutely worth the investment. Glad to see it repped so favorably here. --- Hi.
