You always hear about how they don't agree with Trump or other extremists behind closed doors but they all fall in line anyway because at the end of the day they have no strong convictions and will do whatever they need to do in order to ensure their own position. The people who actually have convictions--people like Trump--are all extremist because it takes conviction to hold extreme beliefs.
