| Mizznox 04/26/23 6:38:21 PM #21: | The quality of the sports would suffer from spreading the talent of 30-32 team leagues across 50 teams. Many would not do well financially - there's a reason states like the Dakotas, Wyoming, etc. don't have pro teams already, and some current teams would likely suffer from potentially losing fans from neighboring states that don't currently have teams. If you intend it to be that players play for the team of the state they're from, you're going to have wildly unbalanced teams. If the typical draft/free agency/trade rules stay anything remotely similar to how it works now, then you're going to have probably an even worse problem than we already do with players focusing on playing in big markets - or at least, not the many small markets.
