Favorite Draft Classes

Dallas Cowboys
HB Phillip Lindsay (14th overall)
OLB Sione Takitaki (46th)
WR Marco Bryant (78th)
DT Jaret Wagner (110th)
QB Dee Woods (142nd)
SS Kevin Smith (174th)
CB Torry Ward (206th)

A highly-skilled, veteran team took some great insurance policies and potential starters down the road. They've been a little light on depth as a whole for a few seasons, which has reared its ugly head with late season collapses, but this is a strong class to me. Lindsay is of course the headliner, but Wagner is worth monitoring given the Cowboys' history of rotational DTs becoming future starters (Dominic Lee being the most famous) and the advanced age of their current star duo.

Jacksonville Jaguars
HB Marlon Mack (20th overall)
C Darryl Walker (41st)
DE Mario Wasserman (73rd)
DT Cody Vuong (105th)
TE Irv Smith Jr. (106th)
QB Ivan Martin (137th)
WR Aaron Henley (169th)
C Wally Smith (201st)

The Jaguars too have suffered late-season collapses to end up outside of the playoffs. It is unlikely that this draft class will have an especially high impact right away, but there's a lot of future appeal here in regards to Mack, Wasserman, and Vuong. Walker and Smith Jr. are expected to be Week 1 starters, and C and TE are positions that are more prone to volume-based development, so they could quickly rise up in rating before the end of their contracts. Every year there's some Day 3 interior OL chosen that make their mark and have a long career as a journeyman or starter, so Wally has some appeal. Given the Jags are one of the more loyal organizations around, Wally's odds of sticking around may be higher than most.

Mexico City Browns
OLB Andrew Van Ginkel (8th overall)
G David Edwards (55th)
CB Barry Hilliard (109th)
WR Chris Smith (112th)
MLB Antonio Barber (119th)
HB Jason Moss (151st)
G Matt Jackson (183rd)

Since there are certain teams that I don't put under consideration or this list, there really isn't a third team that I feel strongly positive toward. I suppose the Bengals, Bucs, or Dolphins would be my third pick, but I'm guessing people would rather see a second user team here, so I'm going with the Browns.

I really like the trade up and selection of Van Ginkel. If they would have stayed put, the OLBs, SSs, and TE Fant would have been gone. I think that the best player for the team at that point would have ironically been the player the Wildcats selected with the same pick, DT Maliek Collins. Instead, they get a blue-chip prospect and with the additional picks they got from the trade, they selected CB Hilliard and WR Smith who will compete for slot duties at their respective positions. They won't be counted on to do the most important work, but they could get some valuable playing time as rookies. MLB Barber is the sleeper here as someone who will either start alongside a great LB group or will get plenty of rotational work behind reigning MVP David Harris (who is 33). Depending on what the Browns plan to do in free agency, Edwards could compete for a starting G spot along with 2nd-year player Jack Driscoll who disappointed with 4 blocks and 3 sacks allowed in limited time.
