Okay, lets look at this list:

Fast X - Ill be honest, this looks bad. While 5-7 were really good the series has been going downhill since and the trailers for this give me no confidence. Jason Momoa looks fun though.

The Little Mermaid - This probably wont be terrible but I just find all the Disney live action remakes thoroughly uninteresting after about 2016. They took the wrong lessons from the success of Cinderella/The Jungle Book/Petes Dragon. The casting looks pretty good to the dismay of online weirdos though, and they seem to have gotten people that can actually sing. Also, why does it look so dark? Its colour graded like a gritty action movie.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts - Strangely optimistic about this one. The trailers look good, its got a good director, its following on from the well received Bumblebee and it seems to be taking the franchise in the right direction. Unfortunately the trouble I have is that my interest in a Transformers film has completely faded by this point. I wish that films like this were coming out 15 years ago rather than whatever Bay was doing. The right film probably, but too late.

Elemental - Not really been keeping up with this one, but its Pixar so it will probably hit a baseline of at least pretty good. Looking at Pixars recent output its not that their films have gotten worse but that other animation studios caught up and so Pixar dont feel quite as special any more. To which point as you note Across the Spider-verse is missing from the poll but would challenge my number 1 if it was in there.

The Flash - Somebody wished for a great Flash movie on a monkeys paw and this happened. All signs are this is great, and Im looking forward to seeing it. Hard to ignore a certain star giving me bad feelings though. Should be good but that mutes my hype a little.

Indiana Jones 5 - I think people are sleeping on this one a bit after Crystal Skull. This film looks *really* promising and we wont need to wait long to find out if its good because it will be at Cannes with no embargo. The word though is that it certainly will be.

Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning: Part One - First of all, thats three colons. Second of all, these films are all great from 4 on, the best running blockbuster franchise for sure, with this one seeming like no exception. This got my vote.

Oppenheimer - The trailers look stunning, its Nolan going back to a more restrained mode with source material no less, but keeping his recent bombast at the same time. You know the explosion is going to be a true cinematic experience, I hope he tries to outdo Lynch and go all the way over the top. It was a tough choice between this and Mission Impossible for my vote.

Blue Beetle - This looks good and looks like the Shazam follow-up we should have gotten earlier this year. I am concerned that it does look a bit like a streaming movie put on the big screen though.

The others all seem interesting too but Im waiting for reviews.

Overall seems like a solid lineup and the best summer blockbuster lineup for quite a while. Could be the best since 2017 maybe? Though obviously you need to account for the pandemic too.
