I think it'd be better to have a mix. The thing was, even in the 3D OoT style era, you had games in the previous 2D style still coming out on handhelds. For better or for worse, there's no longer a console-handheld split, so we're only getting one stream of games now. Even in the meantime between BotW and TotK, they were releasing remasters of the older 3D games, but that was a stopgap measure and they've almost run the well dry by now.

If they're only ever going to make BotW style stuff going forward, I feel that's a missed opportunity, and combining that with longer dev cycles will leave a dearth of content and hungry fans.
