I'm thinking the admins were just sick of it (one or two might be more...biased) and just found the perfect 'reasoning' to get rid of it.

I think the CEOs that bought this company told them to take it down because that's the exact sort of reason they buy unprofitable toys like these kinds of websites (This is like a bargain bin version of the purchase of Twitter, which was also never going to be profitable and all about Elon Musk's ego and desire to try to control a narrative), and in fact, we sort of already know as much from the story we were told about this being the only thing they were concerned about when negotiating the purchase (Which is absolutely absurd).

I doubt they are alt-right, they are likely right-libertarians and in fact, that's a group that was made fun of quite often on the Politics board, along with special heroes of theirs like Elon Musk and all the other rich losers they worship.

This entire website is worth like 50k. That's absolute pocket change as far as buying a business goes. We all know it isn't going to be profitable, and if your idea is to make it profitable, all of a sudden axing a sizeable amount of users reason for coming to the site is absolute lunacy. I mean, eventually they are going to plaster the Fandom sidebar onto this site and try to redirect traffic away from the sinking ship, why would you want less traffic being redirected? Why would you have strong feelings about one particular board (That honestly, CE is much, much more naughty than. Even the trolls on politics were sleepy and uninspired.).
