A lot of people don't really like Crybaby, partially for how it modernizes the material, but its actually the closest anime adaptation to the manga out of all of them due to how it sees the plot all the way through. I didn't know for sure that there was an older one, but there's that one scene where he's watching an older "original" anime version of Devilman so I figured the source material probably was older and Crybaby was a remake or sequel or something. I never looked into it though. I also went in not knowing what to expect. I didn't dislike the over the top nature and the story was great. I only really had an issue with one scene. It was the, uh... dream scene with the succubus demon, specifically... after he woke up >_>. I was like... "bruh..." It was funny though. --- D ... Copied to Clipboard! |
