some parts of this remind me of yoshimi kudo or 96 rhythm game tracks. speaking of that
kirby chord changes are so epic. if this song was less cute but had the same notes people would think it is a famous hero movie
this song sounds like the person who made it was trying to make a song that I would like.
this song sounds like it was made by someone who likes jazz but is really embarrassed about it so made "epic gaming computer music" instead. an odd match for me since it's between two tracks that I used to consider among my favorites from each respective composer, but now I'm far far more into other stuff by each of them and these two don't even come close to how much i like their other stuff these days. now if this was like desert ruins vs china ogre I would immediately die. the main reason I like chimerario and mitsuda is because they're both very"not in one diatonic scale the whole time" composers but these tracks are some of the least like that they have. well at least the tracks both have neat [constantly change the tonal center]-core bits half way thru. I also think both composers got sound design tendencies that clicked with me a lot more in their later stuff. my UNbiased vote if I didn't have full context on who these composers normally were would comfortably go to Deluged Depths for the polymeter overdose and fm sounds, I like it a lot more consistently throughout even if undersea palace has higher highs for me
