I'm still a bit resentful about itI have schizophrenia that started when I was around 20-21 so I might just be confusing it with lack of self awareness in some young ppl... When I got my symptoms I knew something was different but mental illness never occurred to me. A test might have helped. Idk how comparable autism and schizophrenia are and I am not trying to say they are, I just want to show that sometimes people get symptoms and change mentally and they don't associate it with the brain in a medical sense and sometimes might have other explanations. Similarly a person who is autistic might not feel different until a certain age, so self reporting in that stage might be a bad idea.
