My favorite stories of him are when he got popped for a drug test and was told he was positive for drugs, but he misunderstood what that meant and thought that was a good thing. "See? Sheik positive! That's good!" And when he was doing a show in the Memphis territory and the athletic commissioner in Louisville forbade any wrestler to get on the microphone during a show. Sheik enters the ring and goes towards the ring announcer (who happened to be Jim Cornette) and tried to do his typical anti-American promo, but Cornette kept the mic away while saying "the commissioner" trying to remind Sheik of the rule.
