The services were beautiful. Visitation and funeral were absolutely amazing. We laid her to rest in a mausoleum, surrounded by beautiful trees, flowers, and a pond with a fountain.

The fuckery behind the scenes was atrocious though. My aunts damn near got in a fist fight in the parking lot at the visitation (for reasons that had nothing to do with my mother). Everyone got so mad at each other that no one came the next day for the funeral (for reasons that had nothing to do with my mother). We still had plenty of friends and dad's family, but my mom's own family was nowhere to be found.

Waiting a few weeks to give myself time, then unleashing hellfire on mom's side of the family, cutting ties with them completely, and not giving them a single thing to remember my mother by.
