I donated platelets earlier this week and the person next to me had a very small breakfast and they too ended up heaving into a trash can (though in their case it was not "dry"). I didn't even know this was a thing, but new fear unlocked. Bad timing for it too, as I've been doing intermittent fasting for the last two weeks and have intentionally skipped breakfast every day since, including the day I donated platelets! For the record I felt drained afterwards, but not lightheaded, nauseous, or faint at all.
