You don't need to keep a spreadsheet, you just need contextual reading skills and pattern recognition.
That 50 karma account who ignores every valid argument against him and only responds to posts that agree with him? That's a troll.
I posted a 1000+ word story from reddit in a smug attempt to make a point about something. The post started with "I'm a 61 male." It was a complete non sequitur in a 200 post topic. Multiple 261 users still responded seriously while completely missing the point of the post.

Just ask yourself, "Why is this user posting in this (bizarre) way? What's his goal?" Usually that question will give you a lot of answers.

As for #2, I think CE is pretty good at just calling trolls for what they are. You can't stop trolls from posting, but you can call them out on their BS. That means NOT making a 10 page dissertation on why their shitty beliefs are wrong, but INSTEAD calling out their shitty posting strategy. Can't say every thread goes well, but you don't see people seriously arguing with Bluets on here.
