I miss this stuff, too. Both the "normal" Swiss breakfast and the additional stuff for brunches.

We have a long tradition of different kind of dried meat in our area (Switzerland, south Germany/Schwarzwald, Austria/Tirol). It's so delicious. If you ever come here, you have to try it.

I'm amazed about all the sweet pastries in the US. It's crazy and many of it tastes good. But it's just overkill for someone like me. After a few days, it's just too much lol ^^

There is a lot of East Coast, so you're probably not in DC, but if you are you might want to try the brunch at Stable today. It's Swiss cuisine (and on the expensive side, even for DC brunch), but more along the lines of what you're describing. Really, you'd probably be better off going to Bread Furst and getting a good loaf of bread to your liking from there.
