Activision is a third party that makes a lot of money for Sony yes. But businesses aren't entitled to third parties making money for them.

I'm sure Netflix would have loved being able to just buy licenses out for Friends and The Office and not bother with Netflix Originals. But that's not how it works. They saw where the wind was going and adapted.

Now if Microsoft bought AMD knowing specifically that both Xbox and Playstation relies on them to develop hardware that's an entirely different story and should be blocked.

If we start to open up the discussion that the dominant company shouldn't be allowed to dictate what content is or isn't allowed on competing hardware then that's gonna open up discussions on exclusivity deals in general. Which is why Sony and the FTC aren't pursuing that argument.

Sorry I think we got mixed up there. I was still talking in hypotheticals in relation to if Microsoft owned most of the market share by buying up other companies after this acquisition goes through.

Also the point you made on exclusivity deals, those are fine unless these deals are on such a scale where the whole industry is being manipulated. As if one company had all the power to make all those deals through each and every company.

Right now, these deals are on a smaller scale in which I wouldn't think its a monopoly at all. Just like Sony with FF16, and Microsoft with Starfield.

Edit: Those games are smaller, but I guess the argument here is that if a game like CoD has such a huge market share, will that effect the industry on a massive level? I would say yes personally.

Again I could be wrong about this shit.
