Bullying pretty much wasn't a thing when (and where) I went to school in the late 80's and 90's. I mean yeah people got bullied but it was nothing like depicted in movies from before my time like wedgies, swirlies, getting shoved in lockers, stolen lunch money, or even regular beatings. If someone got hit there were usually pretty severe punishments so it was mostly just name calling.

Again just stating my experience not trying to say stereotypical bullying wasn't a thing at all.
Yeah I graduated in 2001 and while physical bullying was a thing sometimes, it was nothing like depictions in the media and got handled with swift suspensions. My kids are in early grade school now and it seems to be even less of a thing these days.
