Yeah when my father died, all they did was call and ask us what we wanted to do as far as life saving techniques. Would have liked to hear something before he was dying such as his condition deteriorating to prepare us a little. Hospitals seem to forget that there are families behind their patients that need to be informed asap as to situations that are changing. We weren't happy in the least with how the hospital handled the call to us in the least. That was 2 years ago. I mean we knew he was in poor health, but there were no signs that we knew of him being in a perilous condition like that until they asked us to what extent we wanted them to try and save his life at 330 in the morning. I think due to COVID (due to the mass cases), a lot of hospitals really lost their touch as to how to talk to families about when their patients are in such a condition. I suppose on the flip side of the coin, is there really a good way to approach that? My condolences on your father, they definitely should have kept you in the know more, you may be onto something though with staff forgetting how to talk to and treat families during that period. I lost my nan to covid on Christmas Eve, 2021, during one of these gifting events. Was a really horrible situation, completely out of the blue, soured Christmas Eve entirely for me which sucks because heading to hers as a young lad with my father was always a big event, basically, she was always a positive memory around the holidays from my youth, losing her on that day of all days hit like a freight train. I worry about my mother, two bouts of cancer, other health issues, she's weaker, less able to recover now. Something like a routine surgery causing complications like this with everything else that has happened to her in the last few years does fill me with worry. Anyway, I don't wanna be a negative nancy in a topic that's meant to be positive, so I'm sorry for off-loading all of this stuff on people here. I appreciate any well wishes given to my mother from people here. I'll drop it now. --- Ryzen 5 5600 | MSI MECH 2 X RX 6600 | 32GB [3200MHz] RAM 1TB WD HDD [7200rpm] + 1TB MX500 SSD / 250GB WD NVMe ... Copied to Clipboard! |
