Looks like imma bout to get a flashback mini-arc, so before that happens I just wanna double down real quick:

They literally spent essentially 2 arcs building up this quest to save Ace, focusing almost solely on Luffy, letting him grow as a character while having him completely focused on saving his brother

Just to still kill Ace off at the end. And then, on top of that, they killed Whitebeard immediately after, who while had only been seen a couple times prior, had been clearly established as a major player and important character even if just in lore alone.

Gotta be real, its hard to find shows that have that much gall to do something like that.

and god fucking damn it, Im not even halfway through the show!

Impel Down/Marineford has cemented my love for this show, and I think at this point, Im officially all in. Sanji might (and will) do more creepy stuff in the future, there may be moments that let me down, but I think after this, I can safely say Im down for whatever comes my way. This last arc fucking earned it, on top of how much I already enjoyed everything prior.

I can get why some people wouldnt love that arc(s), but holy fuck man, while it did fucking hurt me, I loved it.
