Actually if you look at the film industry, having that many writers credited usually correlates with the product being a terrible mess. Because it's not as simple as "four writers equals four times the creativity." It's usually more like "they started with one who wrote most of the script then got fired, then another was brought on to do rewrites and add their own take but got fed up and left due to executive meddling, rinse and repeat, in the end four screenwriters get credited."

Songwriting works differently. Each contributor (or team of contributors) tends to have their own role: beats, chords, lyrics, topline, etc.

Then you also have to give credits for any interpolation or borrowings.
