I'm talking about this particular problem. To avoid this, you'd need to rapidly remove enough carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere to stop additional warming. Just freezing things at the current level results in a couple centuries of continued climate change, which is well beyond the timeframe given here for Atlantic current collapse.

Stopping things from getting even worse is good, but for this, you'd want people to assume this is happening no matter what and start working on ways to deal with it.
