This is nonsense that's based on nothing, though. It's been stated earlier in the thread that tinder only lets you swipe 20 or 30 times a day so it's easily possible he was being discriminate at first. He could have had a 50:50 ratio for over two months straight given the numbers provided. In fact, the numbers support this theory better than yours because of the proportion of left:right swipes. Someone with just ~1000 left swipes and ~29,000 right swipes was probably being somewhat choosy for a time and then, after getting nothing, adopted the strategy of just right-swiping everything and then going from there. Makes a hell of a lot more sense given the matches he got.

It doesn't, though, because overswiping leads to less matches, and since he has both a swipe rate WAY above average for men, and a match rate WAY below average for men, then it suggests the algorithm hit him hard early on, not later.

Again, it's a poor example overall, because his numbers are so out of line with averages to begin with, that nobody should be drawing any conclusions from it. There's simply not enough info there.
