So Russia has many problems with its economy. The few obvious things are the massive sanctions against it and the funding of their war in Ukraine. Their currency, the Ruble, was hard crashing when the war started. Putin propped it up by using their Federal Reserves. That money seems to have run out though. Here is a chart of the Ruble when it collapsed, got propped up by Putin and where it is now.

How much as Putin burn through their reserves? Well here is a tweet about it.

Putin has been trying to make money by selling oil to a handful of places. India seems to be the biggest buyer with them buying at a discounted price. India has been buying oil from Russia and selling it at a higher price. Problem is that they are making far less money than before because they are being forced to sell at a cheaper price as time goes on. Here is a chart on their fossil fuel sales over time.

Russia also has a massive labor shortage. Many of their workers fled the country when they tried to force citizens to fight. Also, Putin has been forcing workers to fight to this day. Its also hard replace their work because of the sanctions. Even many of the workers that can go to Russia wont go because of the fear of being forced to fight. Here is an article about it.

The problem with this is that the lack of workers makes it harder to replace equipment they use in the war. Its a lack of funds and workers. A horrible combination. All of these issues come together like a perfect storm. It seems that the collapse has started at it will only get worse from here.
