Even your own linked article points out that Evo was an abnormal situation with the consoles on longer than they should be and people using aftermarket converters, and they didn't start swapping the PS5s until the finals. This isn't something you'd run into with normal everyday use. Skeptical of why you got modded though, the OP didn't include anything mod worthy, unless you posted something later that got you hit.
