People create things during their lives and as people we acsribe value to these creations, big and small. When they die it reminds us that both the things we create that give us pleasure and sentimental feelings are impermanent, and so too are we. And so too is humanity. It's just a chain store, but humans are good at recognizing ourselves reflected in the world.
