Being a menial doesn't pay very well. If you can work really hard and be responsible, you can work your way up or at least trade off experience for a better position where you are or elsewhere. Neither situation is great. Being a creative, intellectually curious type without connections, a really solid work ethic, and some luck gets you a menial job that doesn't pay well and it's even harder because you're physically taxed and mentally bored all day. I envy people that can turn off their brain and be satisfied with menial work... I'm not better than them and that does not mean they are dumb. It just means they are far better adapted for our capitalist society where labor is deeply undervalued and creative or technical jobs are ultra-competitive. They would also be more useful than me in a zombie apocalypse. --- If what you believe is truthful and just, you shouldn't have to posture as someone or something else. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
