The new CEO did start talking about the entire debacle / drama.
But the entire crew is being transparent about their portion of the screw-ups.
That's a good thing, everybody admitting to their portion of screw-ups is good for transparency.
They state what they're going to do to fix things.
Everybody who is in a management position who screwed up, they admit to their mistakes.

Nothing wrong with that.

Just having a CEO walk out and take all the blame publically is not a good move.
It's a classic "Pin all the blame" on one person and hope that they're disposable later on.
If you mess up, you own up to it, you admit it, apologize for it, figure out what you need to fix it or prevent it from happening again.
That's a far better solution than having the CEO being a "Talking Blame Absorption Machine".
