One big problem of illegal immigration in the EU is the lack of documents. They have no papers, no ID, nothing, so no one knows who they are or what they did before, not even checking fingerprints or anything at all. Doesn't help that the countries don't want to document wandering migrants either, as long as they can assume that they leave the country to travel into another country (looking at eastern europe).
