If that succeeds, he gets to stay out of jail until his court date. If he no shows then a bounty hunter working for the bail bondsman will go out and drag him back. If he fails but pays the bond in full himself, he gets to go free until court date and if he skips, a warrant for arrest for yet another charge happens. US Marshals could go hunting him down as well.
