You can break the webs when it's on it to drop it down and deal a lot of damage. You can also knock it off the top level to get the same result. Knocking things off the edge is one of the best ways to kill enemies - there are areas you can throw them immediately to their death, or at the very least knock them down a level. I've been thunderwaving everyone as my wizard and cheesing some harder fights.
