I'm about three hours north.

There is a saying in the horse world - Go Up The Hudson two hundred miles, turn left, and go back 200 years.

This town is/was a resort town for NYC and other places money back in the Victorian Era.
The Mansions were called Cottages. Though they are all amazing.

The Broadway in my town is the same strip of road that leads directly to Broadway in NYC.
They are both coincidently named that. If I were lost in NYC, I could hit Broadway, travel North, and go straight home.
Just as The Hudson River had no name for quite some time.

Having said all that, I have been to Boston more.
Very interesting. Is that true about Broadway? Wild. Haven't been to Boston but curious.

i was visiting as a kid in the 90s, so '16 was my first proper visit, well into my adult years. 95, 97, and 19 were largely spent in queens visiting family.

pros: great restaurants, lots of history and culture, no shortage of sights if you admire architecture and arts, lots of interesting hidden spots only known to locals.
cons: rather expensive, sea of concrete with not much greenery (outside central park anyway), very dense, lots of rats, smelly streets, stark poverty, and getting around town quickly means either subway or taxi (though this is the case in most megacities). this largely applies to manhattan though.
I'm not sure subway is a con lol.

Visited once. Saw all the typical tourist spots. As impressive as it was, one visit was enough. It's just too crowded and dirty for my taste.
You're used to what you're used to.

Do you ever wander or just home to work, work to home?

Nah, friend is getting married on Long Island, we are staying for about a week in the city itself before going out for the wedding.
Congrats!
