It's free to roam on it. Abandoned above ground railroad that was restored as a park with art installations. K town for food and random shops. Midtown in general. Brooklyn Bridge. If you're looking to do an observatory then maybe consider Top of the Rock as you can see the Empire State Building from it. Central Park.
