Just constantly scheming and running gambit after gambit, and able to quickly bounce back from a setback and roll it into one of her other machinations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Seondeok_(TV_series) Carla the Grey Witch from Record of Lodoss War was great, too. I ran a 5 year long D&D campaign, War of the Burning Sky, and modeled the main villain after the above two, especially Mishil. Had a huge plot twist about 4 years into it that the party had been her unwitting pawns the entire time that just utterly broke them (and gave them all the inspiration they needed to continue to the end and take her down, after campaign burn out had set in by then). She was redeemed, but Lady Kayura from Ronin Warriors was such a great cocky villain before said redemption. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
